Modo Gives Back

We truly enjoy working with our incredible mission-driven clients. During the course of our work, we are able to extend pro-bono hours to help advance their projects even further.

As the year rolls to a close and we are excited for all that the new year will bring, we often reflect on ways to broaden our reach to other non-profit organizations. We’ve got a great team here at Modo, so we’ve turned to them to identify a mission-driven organization that they respect and Modo makes a donation on their behalf.

Bethany Christian Services

Bethany Christian Services is the nation’s largest adoption agency that provides adoption, temporary foster care, counseling, training and family support with the purpose of providing children with safe, loving, and strong families.

Josh chose Bethany because they are an organization that help make the adoption process easier and support adopted families, including his own family.

My parents adopted a little girl from China a little over a year ago. I’ve been able to see first hand the amazing work they do with newly adopted children in helping them become acclimated in their new environments. I’d like give something back to them for the all help they’ve given my family.

City Lights Ministries

City Lights Ministries is an outreach that seeks to assist local Lancaster families in practical ways throughout the year. City Lights’ outreach to families includes Christmas gifts for children, food donations for family meals at the holidays and throughout the year, donations of furniture, and referrals to counseling and other resources.

Michelle chose City Lights because of what they do at Christmas.

The ministry is focused on children and making their Christmas a wonderful, joyous occasion. I have an extreme heart for children and seeing them work to make their Christmas brighter with gifts, as well as bringing the gospel of hope to them, means a lot to me.

House of His Creation

House of His Creation is a local organization that provides support services to young single mothers through pre and post-natal healthcare, education/GED support, parenting and nutrition courses, and other supportive services.

Travis chose House of His Creation after learning more about it from a friend who works for the organization.

We've been to House of His Creation a handful of times to see what it's all about. They're doing really awesome things to help teen mothers get things figured out & get back on their feet.

International Justice Mission

The International Justice Mission is a human rights organization that works to discover and investigate slavery, free slaves, provide aftercare counseling, prosecute perpetrators, and strengthen public justice systems throughout the world.

Kristine chose IJM because she’s impressed with their work and impact.

It’s truly hard to believe, but there is an active modern day slave trade happening right now in every country across the globe. And, many of these slaves are young children, teens, and women sold into slavery and experiencing sexual exploitation and abuse. IJM is dedicated to working in dangerous situations each day to bring freedom, healing, and justice...where it had not existed. Truly incredible!

Project Haiti

In actively responding to the devastation in Haiti caused by the earthquake, which exacerbated the persistent problem of poverty and an insufficient infrastructure, the US Green Building Council envisioned Project Haiti, with the intent to design and build the first LEED orphanage and children’s center in Haiti.

Phil chose Project Haiti out of an appreciation for Haitians and their country as well as a long-standing professional respect for the work of USGBC.

Having learned about Haiti first-hand some years ago while on a service mission, I’m particularly pleased that we can help be a small part in helping USGBC to create a safe, healthy home for children living in Haiti.

Water Street Ministries

Water Street Ministries provides a full array of services to individuals living in homelessness and poverty in southeastern Pennsylvania. Water Street’s comprehensive services include counseling, health, and educational services.

Ben chose Water Street because compassion, action, and perseverance are necessary components to work towards real, long term, societal change.

The people at Water Street care about people in need, they take action to help them, and they persevere through difficulty. I support them as they continue their work.

Wikimedia Foundation

The Wikimedia Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to encouraging the growth, development, and distribution of free, multi-lingual content to the public. The Wikimedia Foundation operates some of the largest collaboratively edited reference projects in the world, including Wikipedia.

Mike chose the Wikimedia Foundation because he supports the free exchange of information for everyone.

Wikipedia is a great source of knowledge that anyone with internet has access to. I have also used it countless times as a resource for general information. Without donations they can not keep the site free and accessible.
